The Foundation Stallions

Hawk Moth

BAY STALLION BORN 1973
By Argos ex Sapphiore Blue
Our first ever Arabian stallion, bought as a two year old from Lesley and Ninetta Theobald. Full brother to Holly Blue, the two of them formed the basis of the stud and their bloodlines appear in many of our horses today.

Hawk Moth head

SHERUGGI 14.3hh by Hawk Moth ex Samiha Bint Samhan
Homebred stallion who carries the coveted blood of Courthouse. Sheruggi sires horses that inherit his generous, honest temperament, naturally curvacious neck and well balanced quality movement.

Wermut. Pure Polish stallion

BAY PURE POLISH STALLION Born 1982
By Probat ex Warmia by Comet
Wermut was a champion sire of race horses in Poland and has beautiful strong conformation and perfect limbs. He is the sire of many of our most successful broodmares, so he appears in a lot of the young horses pedigrees.

CHESTNUT STALLION. BORN 1975
By Roxan by Count Rowland
Ex Corn Marigold by Zehros

The Prince of Orange was purchased as a foal and lived his whole life at Combe Farm. If there was one horse who could change peoples opinion of arabians this horse did. He had the most perfect temperament ridden by children, loved by all and had amazing looks. The Prince of Orange made a positive impact on you always a joy to work with.
The Prince of Orange was an outstanding sire with his daughter Grey Woodnymph being British National Champion. We continue his line with his daughter Lady Amy and his Grand daughter Anastasja at the stud today.
Oranges as he is known was one of Michael’s first Arabian horses. In his day he won many prizes including once standing above the great El Shaklan.

Galliard

GREY STALLION BORN 1975

By ROXAN by COUNT ROWLAND ex BINT ROXANA
Ex TRYPOLITANKA by TRYPOLIS

GALLIARD OR HENRY AS HE’S CALLED ON THE YARD IS AN AMAZING STALLION WHO WAS ELLA'S RIDDEN STALLION AND FAVOURITE HORSE. HENRY HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL SIRE AND EVEN SIRED 3 FOALS IN HIS 28TH YEAR THESE WE LOOK FORWARD TO RIDING. HE IS ONE OF OUR ORIGINAL ARABIAN HORSES AND WE HAVE LEARNT SO MUCH FROM HIM A VERY SPECIAL HORSE TO US ALL.
